Turkish company representatives showed interest in investing 5.5 million euro to build a plant in the region of Stara Zagora, Southern Bulgaria, during a working meeting with Regional Governor Nasko Vasilev on Tuesday, the local administration reported. The Turkish company specializes in producing materials for cosmetics and sanitary products, as well as food flavourings.

The company has a long history. Its Turkish plant annual turnover is over 75 million U.S. dollars. Two years ago, the Turkish investors started researching this country and chose the Stara Zagora region to develop their business. They already have a centre of operations close to the city, which they have been using to export products to other European countries and the Middle East.

The investors are planning to build a new facility covering 10,000 square metres to expand the company’s operations. Some of the raw materials (e.g., essential oils, lavender) for the business will be purchased from this country. Plans are to have the facility completed by the end of this year and production to start by early 2023.
