Sofia Airport’s summer schedule will include over 80 destinations, both new and familiar ones, the airport said Thursday. This is in line with operator SOF Connect’s plan to extend the flight network, allowing connections and transfer flights to neighbouring countries and tourist destinations, including exotic ones.
Twice weekly flights to Zadar, Croatia, will be offered for the first time by Ryanair as of May 1.
The new offers include GullivAir’s regular flights to Skopje, Tirana and Thessaloniki. The first flight to Skopje was on March 26 and that to Tirana is set or April 2. Flights to Thessaloniki will commence on June 17, three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Czech Airlines will also resume the Sofia-Prague flights abandoned in 2012. These will be thrice weekly as of May 3, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The Italian national air carrier ITA resumes flights to Rome’s Fiumicino Airport every weekday with the exception of Thursday as of May 1.
Ryanair will launch twice weekly flights to Varna (on the Black Sea) as of May 1, GullivAir resumes flights to the port of Burgas as of April 10, and national carrier Bulgaria Air will continue its regular flights to the two cities.
Charter flights to popular winter schedule destinations like Kairo and Hurghada in Egypt, and the Dominican Republic, among others, will continue.
