site.btaCabinet Allocates up to Lv 60 Mln for Air Carriers

The Cabinet adopted changes to approve additional expenditures in the budget of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for 2021.

The European Commission has approved state aid for grants of up to 60 million leva for air carriers with a permit to carry passengers.

The aim is to help Bulgarian airlines that need liquidity to deal with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The funds are provided for the repayment of public liabilities, liabilities to banks and liabilities under contracts for operational leasing of aircraft, currently due as of December 31, 2019, as well as uncovered fixed costs incurred during the period from March 1, 2020 to December 31 2021
