site.btaBulgaria's General Government Debt at 25.1% of GDP in 2021

Bulgaria's General Government Debt for 2021 is 33,277 million leva or 25.1 per cent of GDP, according to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute released on Tuesday. 

In 2021 the General Government Institutional Sector reported a deficit of 5,433 million leva, or 4.1 per cent of GDP. The deficit in the Central Government sub-sector amounted to 6,389 million leva, or 4.8 per cent of GDP. 

The Local Government sub-sector reported a surplus of 146 million leva, and the sub-sector Social Security Funds reported a surplus of 810 million leva.
