site.btaIndustrial Producer Prices Go Up by 36.1% in March 2022, Y/Y

Industrial producer prices in Bulgaria in March 2022 increased by 36.1% compared with March 2021, the National Statistical Institute reported on Friday. A breakdown by subsector shows that prices in electricity, heat and gas production and distribution grew by 85.2%, the manufacturing industries 22.4%, and the extracting industries 13.2%.

Within the manufacturing industries, more considerable year-on-year price increases were registered in: the production of chemicals (33.9%); timber and wood products, exclusive of furniture (30.3%); paper, cardboard and related products (25%); metal products, exclusive of machinery and equipment (21.9%); basic metals (19.7%); and rubber and plastic products (19.3%).

In March 2022 compared with February 2022, industrial producer prices grew by 4.3%. The manufacturing industries registered a 6% increase, the extracting industries 4.8%, and electricity, heat and gas production and distribution 1.1%.

Within the manufacturing industries, more considerable month-on-month price increases were registered in the production of metal products, exclusive of machinery and equipment (8%), foods (6%), and chemicals (5.7%). Decreases were observed in printing services and the reproduction of recording mediums (minus 0.2%), and tobacco products (minus 0.1%).
