site.btaFinance Ministry Forecasts Budget Surplus of Lv 883 Mln in April
Based on preliminary data and assessments, the budget balance of the Consolidated Fiscal Programme (CFP) as at April 2022 is expected to be positive at 883 million leva (0.6% of GDP), compared to a surplus of 171.6 million leva in April 2021, the Finance Ministry said.
Revenue, aid and donations under the CFP are forecast at 17,792 million leva (31.1% of the annual estimate), up by 1,080 million leva (6.5%) from those registered in April 2021. Tax and non-tax revenue grew nominally year-on-year by 1,040 million leva, while the revenue in the aid and donations part (mainly grants under EU programmes and funds) remained unchanged.
The expenditure under the CFP (including Bulgaria's contribution to the EU budget) are expected at 16,909 million leva (26.8% of the annual estimate), compared to 16,540.5 million leva in April 2021.
Bulgaria's contribution to the EU paid as at April 30 from the central government budget amounts to 535 million leva.
