Economy and Industry Minister Korneliya Ninova Monday visited the Bozhurishte Industrial Zone near Sofia, where a 100 million euro investment is in the works for the construction of the biggest logistics base in the Balkans, the Economy Ministry said in a press release. Ninova reviewed the construction plans and discussed details about the implementation of the project, which is expected to create 200 jobs in the zone.

Ninova held talks with the Electricity System Operator (ESO) for the construction of connecting infrastructure, with which the State has to provide the investors. The Economy Ministry is ready with the register of industrial parks, located in a way to cover the entire country, Ninova said.

"Building new and widening the existing zones is one of the ways to overcome regional differences," she noted. Special attention will be paid to Northwestern Bulgaria.

The economic crisis has forced many world companies to shorten the supply chains and seek conditions to relocate their business to Bulgaria. The projects for new zones should be elaborated at an accelerated rate, as these are opportunities for the Bulgarian economy and for new jobs, Ninova said.
