The largest Belgian tour operator TUI fly Belgium is cancelling all flights to and from Bulgaria until the end of June, local media reported. The decision comes after the airline noticed that Belgian travellers are reluctant to choose Eastern European destinations due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Prior this move, the company performed weekly flights to the two largest Bulgarian cities on the seacoast: Varna and Burgas. A spokesperson for the airline explained that while this country does not pose risks, travellers are wary, since both Ukraine and Russia border the Black Sea.

TUI fly Belgium is also cancelling all flights to and from North Macedonia, while Prague's popularity as a tourist destination is declining. Tourists seem to prefer visiting Spain and Portugal instead, according to the airline.
