A total of 194 international charter aircraft movements with 26,241 passengers were logged by Sofia Airport in April, airport operator Sof Connect said Wednesday. The total number of passengers in April remained below the registered volume in the same month of pre-COVID 2019 (over 91,000 passengers fewer).
Passengers on international flights were 18% fewer, totalling 457,524 passengers, which is a decrease by some 101,000 passengers from this month in 2019.
Passengers on domestic flights were 27% fewer, amounting to 15,346 passengers, which is a decrease by some 5,000 compared to the same month of 2019.
In April 2022, the number of aircraft movements was 4,652, down by 7% compared to the same period of 2019.
In April, air cargo shipments and mail increased by 2,014 tonnes compared to the same month of 2019.
