site.bta Poland to Promote Bulgaria as One of Three Destinations on Its Tourism Market

Bulgaria will be one of three destinations that Poland will promote on its tourism market, it emerged from a Bulgarian-Polish forum on the tourism industry in Warsaw.

The event was opened by Bulgarian Tourism Minister Hristo Prodanov, who conferred with Andrzej Gut-Mostowy, Secretary of State for Tourism at Poland's Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

"My principal mission today is to assure the Polish people that Bulgaria is a safe destination. I can assure you that your compatriots will spend a calm and memorable vacation," Prodanov said in his greetings address. "As a result of the bilateral agreement signed in 2021 and the opening of a Bulgarian tourism representation in Warsaw, bilateral relations have been making good progress. I can see a potential for good development prospects," the Tourism Minister went on to say.

For his part, Gut-Mostowy noted his country's readiness to carry out a broad-ranging media and publicity campaign for Bulgaria, which will be one of the three destinations to be promoted on Poland's tourism market.

Prodanov added that Bulgaria can tap Poland's experience in setting up a travel guarantee fund and launching a children's holiday voucher programme, which is also part of the Polish Government's governance programme. "Over EUR 1 billion is allocated for tourism vouchers. Every Polish child is eligible to use a tourism voucher throughout the year," the Secretary of State added.

Bulgaria's Ambassador in Warsaw Margarita Ganeva and Deputy Tourism Minister Mariela Modeva also took part in the forum.
