Bulgargaz announced on Wednesday that the projected price of natural gas for July is BGN 142.11/MWh (exclusive of the cost of access, transmission, excise duty and VAT), which is equivalent to EUR 142.11/MWh translated at central bank's fixed exchange rate.
The price projection is based on the projected values of the price-forming components as of May 11.
By comparison, the July futures price on the European gas markets on May 11 approximates EUR 95.60 or BGN 190.00/MWh, the public supplier noted.
A final natural price gas proposal for July will be submitted to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) for endorsement on July 1, taking into account the quotations of the price-forming components as of June 30, Bulgargaz added.
The EWRC endorses the natural gas price, effective April 1, at BGN 142.59/MWh (exclusive the cost of access, transmission, excise duty and VAT).
The EWRC was supposed to endorse a natural gas price for May at a closed-door meeting on May 10, but it has been postponed because the Energy Ministry has started a check into natural gas pricing for May, which will be completed on May 12.
The natural gas price for June is projected at BGN 148.63/MWh. It is based on the projected values of the price-forming components as of April 11.
