During the International Transport Forum Annual Summit in Leipzig, Deputy Transport Minister Vladimir Varbanov said that provisions of the Mobility Package 1 have negative economic effect on road transport in the EU. He was speaking at a roundtable on Global Transport and the War in Ukraine, the Transport Ministry said.

The combined effects of the restrictions under Mobility Package 1 and the ongoing war conflict have a negative impact on all types of transport especially on companies that are based in EU countries which are close to Europe’s external borders,” said the Deputy Prime Minister. He said that the rising fuel prices and the shortage of truck drivers within the EU also have a negative impact on road hauliers.
