Dozens of hotels have already signed up for a new humanitarian programme for accommodating displaced people from Ukraine, said the press service of the Council of Ministers. The programme provides BGN 15 per day per person for shelter and food.
All requirements and the registration form are available at https://ukraine.gov.bg/bg/2022/05/20/the-humanitarian-program-for-accommodation-of-ukrainian-refugees-after-may-31-will -be-open-to-hotels /
In the seaside resort of Albena, all hotels that currently house people under temporary protection are ready to continue their participation under the new conditions. The resort accommodates over 1,500 people, and a significant number of them will be hired for seasonal work. The hoteliers are also considering day care services for children between 3 to 6 years old.
The situation is similar in other seaside resorts. The head of the coordination group for refugees and chairman of the State Agency for Refugees, Mariana Tosheva, accompanied a team of interviewers as they visited more than 50 hotels which accommodate more than 10,000 Ukrainian people. Interviewers demonstrated to Ukrainian citizens how to complete their surveys and submit their data.
A few days ago, Deputy Prime Minister Kalina Konstantinova said that the new humanitarian programme will be open not only for government facilities but to all accommodation places registered in the National Tourist Register.
