site.btaBulgaria’s Kozloduy N-plant Reports Completion of Annual Maintenance of Its Unit Five
Bulgaria’s only Kozloduy N-plant Saturday reported having completed the annual maintenance of its Unit Five after a check and approval by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency. The unit was reconnected to the national power grid on 09:33 hrs on Saturday.
The 1,000-megawatt Unit Five was switched off for scheduled annual maintenance on April 24. The maintenance works included preventive technical maintenance and repairs of the equipment and systems, trials, specialized inspections and checks to secure the unit's safe and reliable long-term operation. The reactor was refueled for the 29th fuel cycle.
Kozloduy’s only other operable unit, Unit Six, is working at full capacity, the power plant said.
