Industrial producer prices in Bulgaria in April 2022 grew by 40.2% compared with April 2021, the National Statistical Institute reported on Monday. This resulted from a 93.7% price rise in electricity, heat and gas production and distribution, 24.9% in the manufacturing industries and 22.2% in the extractive industries.

Within the manufacturing industries, the highest increase was recorded in the production of chemical products (34.4%), followed by basic metals (30.9%), timber and products thereof, exclusive of furniture (29.8%), paper, cardboard and products thereof (27.1%), metal products, exclusive of machinery and equipment (23.4%), and foods (22.3%).

In April 2022 compared with March 2022, industrial producer prices in Bulgaria grew by 3.3%. This resulted from a 6.4% price rise in the extractive industries, 5.2% in electricity, heat and gas production and distribution, and 2.3% in the manufacturing industries.

Within the manufacturing industries, the highest increase was recorded in food prices (5.3%), followed by basic metals (5%), leather and products thereof (4.7%), and paper, cardboard and products thereof (3.1%).
