In the first quarter of 2022, seasonally adjusted figures for GDP showed an increase of 4 % compared with the like period of 2021 and an increase of 0.8% compared with the fourth quarter of 2021, show preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute on Wednesday.
According to preliminary data, GDP at current prices for the first quarter of 2022 totalled 32 807 million leva. The GDP per person was 4, 800 leva.
The GV2 generated by the national economy during the first quarter of 2022 amounted to 28, 484 million leva at current prices.
According to seasonally adjusted data, in the first quarter of, 2022 GDP increased by 0.8% quarter-on-quarter. In the same period, GVA increased by 0.4%.
According to preliminary data for the first quarter of 2022, final consumption increased by 1 % and gross capital formation increased by 16.8%. Exports of goods and services increased by 1.9% from the previous quarter, according to seasonally adjusted data and the imports of goods and services increased by 3.8%.
GVA increased by 3.9% in the first quarter of 2022 year-on-year, according to seasonally adjusted data.
According to the preliminary data, GDP per person employed increased in real terms by 3.3% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of 2021.
The number of persons employed in the economy was 3, 368,400 and the total number of hours worked totalled 1,375.2 million. Compared with the same quarter of the previous year the structure of employment by economic sector in the first quarter of 2022 shows an increase in the relative share of service sector and decrease in agriculture and industry.
GDP per person employed was 9, 739.9 leva and GDP per hour worked was 23.9 leva.
GVA per person employed increased in real terms by 2.1% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the like period of 2021. GVA per hour worked went up in real terms by 1.6%.
