site.btaEC Sends 400 Comments and Recommendations on Bulgaria’s Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan

The European Commission has sent 400 comments and recommendations on  Bulgaria’s Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan (2023-2027), said at a briefing the Minister of Agriculture Ivan Ivanov. “I want to emphasize that these are comments, not remarks, in general, the EC gave a positive assessment of the plan,” he explained.

The Agriculture Ministry identified 40 comments as substantial, 160 as technical and 205 as general, which do not require comment. This will allow focus on the actual work that needs to be done, said Minister Ivanov.

“We will make the necessary adjustments where necessary, we are working full steam ahead,” he added. “Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture will hold three meetings a week with experts from the EC. We envisage intensive communication, as this will determine the country's agricultural policy in the next five years,” Ivanov commented.

Deputy Minister Momchil Nekov said that thanks to the efforts of experts in the Ministry of Agriculture, EUR 1.4 billion will be provided.
