The second edition of an International Tourism and Economy Forum took place here on Friday, organized by the Chirpan Municipality and the Regional Association of Municipalities Trakia. Attending were the mayors of the members municipalities the Trakia Association and the ambassadors of India, Serbia, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Vietnam and Turkey, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, foreign branch organizations and the Trakia University.

Opening the forum, Tourism Minister Hristo Prodanov said, quoted by the municipal press  centre, that the key to developing tourism is for municipalities, the business and the state to work in one direction. He presented his idea that food vouchers can be used to pay for holidays as well.

During the conference Chirpan Mayor Ivailo Kracholov presented joint initiatives with the Serbian municipalities of Nis and Pantelej, Italian partners from Borgo Vercelli and branch organizations from Israel, Turkey and Belarus.

The forum marked the start of a three-day international festival of lavender.
