According to the financial reports of parliamentary represented parties, in 2021 their bank deposits shrank by half and their cash, by one-third from a year earlier, shows an analysis of the Institute for Public Environment Development (IPED). The IPED team reviewed the financial statements for 2020 and 2021 of the parties and coalitions that were part of Parliament last year.

With three general elections held last year (one regular and two early), the analysis examined formations that were part of the 44th, 45th, 46th and 47th National Assembly.

In 2021, the parliamentary represented formations' monetary resources totalled BGN 9,301,000 in bank deposits and BGN 1,018,000 in cash, compared to BGN 18,815,000 and BGN 1,477,000, respectively, in 2020.

Among the forces in the current 47th National Assembly, GERB-UDF had the most resources, BGN 6.4 million in bank deposits and BGN 295,000 in cash, the analysis shows. Compared to 2020, the coalition lost nearly BGN 7.13 million of its savings.

The five-party coalition of BSP for Bulgaria had the biggest amount of resources in cash, BGN  535,000, down from BGN 699,000 in 2020. The coalition's deposits shrank from BGN 1,124,000 in 2020 to BGN  590,000 in 2021.

The analysis also covers the Continue the Change party of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, but as the formation was officially established earlier this year, the IPED examined the financial information of the three parties through which Petkov ran in the November 2021 parliamentary elections. They declared BGN 708,000 in bank deposits last year.

The Movement for Rights and Freedoms had BGN 501,000 in deposits, compared to BGN 1,425,000 a year earlier, and BGN 11,000 in cash, compared to BGN 260,000 in 2020.

Democratic Bulgaria increased slightly its resources in cash, from BGN 22,000 in 2020 to BGN 32,000 last year. The coalition had BGN 530,000 in bank deposits in 2021.

There Is Such a People party's deposits amounted to BGN 105,000 and its cash, to BGN 1,000 last year.

Vazrazhdane's deposits amounted to BGN 205,000 last year, compared to BGN 277,000 in 2020. No data is available for the party's resources in cash.
