A new ferry will be carrying passengers and cargo once a week between Burgas, Bulgaria, and Batumi, Georgia, as of July, Burgas Port Executive Director Diyan Dimov said here on Thursday.
The new Ro-Ro ship, called Vilnius, will join Drujba that started to operate along the route across the Black Sea back in 2014. A Ukrainian company will be the operator of the second ro-ro line. A customs office and a plant protection inspection post will be built at the Port of Burgas.
An agreement on the launch of the new line between the management of the Port of Burgas and the Mayor of Batumi will be signed later on Thursday.
