Two business events marked the beginning of the 16th Days of Belgium in Bulgaria.
On June 23, the new production and development facility of microelectronics manufacturer Melexis Bulgaria (member of the Belgium-Bulgaria-Luxembourg Business Club) hosted a discussion in which outgoing Bulgarian Innovation and Growth Minister Daniel Lorer presented the economic situation in this country and a vision for the future of business.
Addressing the event, the Belgian Ambassador in Sofia, Frederic Meurice, said: "We are happy to have an impeccable bilateral relationship and a prospering business partnership thanks to the fruitful efforts of our two governments and of the business circles in the two countries."
Belgium-Bulgaria-Luxembourg Business Club (BBLBC) President Christof De Mil, who is CFO and Innovation leader for KBC Group in Bulgaria, said that the companies with Belgian interests in Bulgaria are among the strategic entities in their areas, "which inspires us with confidence and optimism."
Melexis Bulgaria Regional Site manager East Europe & Global OPS Strategic Manager Sylvain Collot stressed that Bulgaria is of great importance to his company in international terms, which is evident from the new production facility that meets the most rigorous global standards in microelectronics.
Later in the day, the BBLBC members attended the third joint event of the EU Member States' chambers of commerce in Bulgaria, European Business Networking Evening, which took place in Sofia Tech Park.
The traditional reception on the occasion of Belgium's National Day will be held on July 21. A special art project supported by the Embassy will be unveiled. The traditional Primus Inter Pares Awards and the Days of Belgium Closing Gala, at which the winners will receive their awards, will take place at the end of September 2022.
