site.btaBusiness Forum to Promote Italian Investments in Bulgaria Held in Rome

Outgoing Innovation Minister Daniel Lorer presented the conditions and opportunities for investing, starting and developing business in Bulgaria, as well as the establishment of the country as a successful investment destination before Italian business representatives in Rome on Tuesday. He opened a business and investment forum on establishing Bulgaria as a successful investment destination, organized by the Invest Bulgaria Agency and Italy’s Confindustria, his ministry said.

The aim of the forum is for Bulgaria to improve its performance among the investment community worldwide as a good place for successful business development. The event was attended by leading companies in the automotive, mechanical engineering and information technology sectors.

The Minister said that Italy is a leading foreign trade and investment partner for Bulgaria. "This is confirmed both by the ever-increasing number of Italian companies operating on the Bulgarian market and by the accelerated growth rate of trade between the two countries. Since the beginning of the year, Italy has been among Bulgaria's top three trading partners in the EU," he stressed.

According to him, the development of automotive sector, mechanical engineering and the IT industry in Bulgaria is extremely positive and increasingly dynamic, and the country has become an attractive investment destination in these sectors. "Our country can become a center for innovation and development for these sectors," Lorer added.

Successful investors in Bulgaria presented investment opportunities.

Attending the forum were Deputy Innovation Minister Desislava Boneva, Bogdan Bogdanov, Executive Director of InvestBulgaria Agency, Italian Ambassador to Bulgaria Giuseppina Dzara, Bulgarian Ambassador to Italy Todor Stoyanov, Confindustria Est Europa President Maria Louisa Meroni , and Confindustria Bulgaria President Roberto Santorelli.
