The National Revenue Agency (NRA) has collected over BGN 14.9 billion in the first half of 2022, which is BGN 1.6 billion more than in the same period last year, according to NRA data.
By the end of June, the revenues for the central budget were close to BGN 8.2 billion, with the personal income tax amounting to almost BGN 2.2 billion; BGN 1.7 billion is corporate tax and more than BGN 4 billion is VAT.
Income from insurance contributions as of June 30 is about BGN 6.3 billion, of which over BGN 3.7 billion was state social insurance, BGN 1.6 billion were health insurance contributions, and BGN 920 million for additional mandatory pension insurance.
The highest growth was in corporate tax revenues (38%). Revenues from personal income tax increased by nearly 8%, and social security contributions grew steadily by more than 12% compared to the same period last year, added the NRA.
"The excellent results we report are due both to the NRA's partnership approach to businesses and citizens, as well as to their conscientious behavior. We are satisfied with the fact that we are once again observing an increase in voluntary declaration and payment by taxpayers. We are confident that at this pace, revenue growth in 2022 will exceed our expectations," said NRA executive director Rumen Spetsov on the occasion of yet another record revenue growth.
