In May 2022, the calendar adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 20.2% compared to the same month of 2021, the National Statistical Institute reported here on Friday. According to the preliminary data in May 2022 the seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index increased by 1.4% compared to April 2022.
Monthly changes
In May 2022, compared to April 2022, the seasonally adjusted Industrial Production Index increased in the mining and quarrying industry - by 13.0%, in the manufacturing - by 1.6% and decreased in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 5.5%. Major growth was seen in the repair and installation of machinery and equipment - by 27.4%, in the manufacture of other transport equipment - by 11.0% and in the manufacture of basic metals - by 8.9%.
The most significant decrease was observed in the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment - by 15.0%, in the manufacture of leather and related products - by 6.6%, in the manufacture of textiles - by 6.1% and in the manufacture of beverages - by 5.5%.
Annual changes
On an annual basis in May 2022, the Industrial Production Index calculated from calendar adjusted data rose in manufacturing - by 21.1%, in the mining and quarrying industry - by 18.5% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply - by 14.1%. The most significant growth in manufacturing compared to the same month of the previous year was registered in the other manufacturing - by 96.7%, in the manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products - by 41.2%, in the manufacture of beverages - by 37.5% and in the manufacture of other transport equipment- by 37.1%.
A decrease was seen in the manufacture of leather and related products - by 1.0%.
