Outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Kornelia Ninova met with employer organizations, the Economy Ministry said on Monday. The employers thanked for the support provided by the State until now and noted Bulgaria's achievements in keeping and opening job places, as well as the country's top position in Europe in terms of industrial output growth in May 2022.

Ninova said that the economy is at the basis of social policy and that it is important to develop industrial output because it transforms into taxes which provide for the increase in maternity benefits, child allowances, salaries, and pensions. She also brought up the topic of increasing employee salaries.

The employers noted the importance of forming a government in order to secure stability and predictability.

Representatives of small and medium enterprises expressed their concern over the lack of transparency on the prices and the supply of natural gas. They insisted on the reestablishment of the negotiations with Gazprom and demanded foresight on whether the expiring contract with the gas supplier will be continued.

The employer organizations asked the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) led by Ninova, as the third government-forming mandate holder, to organize a meeting between employers and potential parties in its new government so that they would look together for a permanent solution for the energy supplies and guarantees for the economy and households.
