site.btaPM Donev: Energy Ministry to Tender Short-term Natgas Supplies Next Week
The Energy Ministry will announce a tender next week for short-term supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG), so that Bulgaria's energy needs can be met until the end of the heating season, said caretaker Prime Minister Galab Donev here at the start of his Cabinet's meeting.
Starting on Friday, the Energy Ministry and the Finance Ministry will jointly draft a plan for the financial stabilization of Bulgargaz, so that the company is able to financially cover the natural gas supplies. "To put it simply, so that it [Bulgargaz] is able to pay for the contracted quantities of natural gas," Donev said.
Donev said of the crisis taskforce, created on Wednesday, that he expects real actions with concrete results and not just words. "I will not get into indirect political discussions, my responsibility as Prime Minister is to seek options for dealing with the problems and not to create illusions," he said. Donev was adamant that the Government knows what it's doing and does not need external consulting services.
"These are the results we achieved after last night's taskforce work. This work will continue over the weekend, so that we can be as transparent and fair as possible in front of the Bulgarian citizens, the public and businesses," the caretaker Prime Minister said.
