Democratic Bulgaria party, a ruling coalition partner in the former government, organized a protest in front of the president's administration under the motto: "Bulgaria - independent from Gazprom!". The protest in response to the actions of the newly appointed caretaker government by President Rumen Radev was scheduled for 7 pm on Friday, DB said in a press release.

The party also urged the caretaker government to follow Bulgaria's national interest by not allowing the country to return to energy dependence of the Kremlin.

DB said they are closely monitoring the actions of the new Cabinet and will call on the citizens to come out on the streets in defence of the country at any attempt of the government to encroach on the sovereignty and interests of Bulgaria.

Protesters chanted: "Resignation", "Mafia out!" and "This is not Moscow". They carried the Bulgarian flag and the EU flag, along with posters with writings against Gazprom. DB MPs also joined the protest.

"The most valuable thing achieved by the Petkov Cabinet is the severing of relations with Gazprom. Mr. Radev, we cannot get rid of you at the moment, you have two months to run a puppet government," said one of the speakers from the podium of the protest, followed by chants against Radev.

Participants insisted that it is very important not to allow this government to make a treasonous decision for Bulgaria.
