The Ministry of Innovation and Growth will invest BGN 200 million in the construction of renewable energy capacities and facilities for the production and storage of energy up to 1 MWh for businesses, the Ministry said on Saturday. The measure will support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small companies with an average market capitalization from the entire economic spectrum, with the exception of the "Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries" and "Electricity, Gas and Water Supply" sectors.
It became clear that the procedure for financing photovoltaics and batteries is one of three under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which are to be opened by the end of the year.
According to another measure, BGN 30.6 million will be allocated to companies to implement modern information and communication technologies in order to improve management, production and logistics processes. The increase in information and cyber security will also be stimulated. The measure will start in September and will again target SMEs from all sectors excluding "Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries", "Mining and quarrying", "Construction", "Education" and "Social Work". The reason is that funds for them are set aside in other European programmes and projects.
The National Recovery and Resilience Plan envisages further investments in research, development and innovation activities, including technology demonstration, prototyping, intellectual property management and others. They will be under the procedure for financing of innovative enterprises that received the "Seal of Excellence" in the competitions of the European Innovation Council. Its total budget is BGN 118.56 million and the beneficiaries will be SMEs. Guidelines for application are expected to be published in September.
