The gross premium income in general insurance for the first 5 months of 2022 is BGN 1,167,208,909, the Financial Supervision Commission (FCS) reports.
Some 70.3% of premium income is for insurance related to motor vehicles, and 6.2%- related to accident and illness.

The benefits paid by the insurers in general insurance are in the amount of BGN 446,395,720. This is 38.24% of the collected premium income. Some 86.6% of this money was paid out on policies related to motor vehicles, and 5.9% on policies related to accident and illness.

The total profit of the insurance companies for this period, according to the FCS data, is over BGN 121.7 million.
