site.btaBulgargaz Projects Natgas Price for October at BGN 269.29/MWh

The price of natural gas for October 2022 is projected at BGN 269.29/MWh, exclusive of the cost of access and transmission, excise duty and VAT, Bulgargaz EAD said on Thursday. Translated at the central bank exchange rate, the price stands at EUR 137.69/MWh.

The price has been formed on the basis of estimates of the price-forming components as of August 11 and provided that the Greece-Bulgaria gas interconnector will be put into commercial operation before October 1, the public supplier specified.

By comparison, October gas futures on the European markets approximated EUR 209/MWh on August 10, the press release added.

A final natural gas price proposal for October 2022 will be submitted to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission on October 1. It will reckon with the price-forming components quotes by September 30, Bulgargaz said.

The projected price for October is over 7% lower than the nearly BGN 290/MWh price proposed for August, which is to be approved on August 12.
