The Association of the Organizations of Bulgarian Employers (AOBE) finds the Bulgargaz auction with a starting price of BGN 380/MWh outrageous. Chair of the Bulgarian Industrial Association Management Board and AOBE chairman for 2022, Dobri Mitrev, on the orders of the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA), the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB), sent a letter to the president and the prime minister on Friday, urging the Council of Ministers and the crisis taskforce to put an end to the chaos and start taking nationally responsible decisions.

"The industries, heating companies and households are going broke in the middle of summer with prices in the range of BGN 300, and Bulgargaz is buying for September at BGN 380. Such prices cannot be compensated by cheaper Azeri gas. These prices will wipe out Bulgarian production, bankrupt heating companies and leave Bulgarians in the dark, cold and without work on the cusp of winter," the AOBE letter said.
