site.bta920 Companies to Get BGN 93 Mln-Plus in Energy Efficiency Grants

Until mid-September 2022, 920 Bulgarian micro-, small and medium-sized companies will go through a contracting procedure for over BGN 93 million in grants for improvement of their energy efficiency, the Innovation and Growth Ministry said on Saturday.

The financing comes under Operational Programme Innovation and Competitiveness 2014-2020, which is implemented by the Ministry.

The funds can be spent on energy-saving machinery and plant and heat isolation of their production buildings, which will cut their electricity, natural gas and liquid fuel bills.

All companies whose project proposals have been approved belong to manufacturing. Most of them manufacture cables, metal structures and articles, plastic, wood and metal joinery, apparel, bread and bakery products. Other print regional newspapers, brochuers and other paper products, or make guitars, other musical instruments, jewellery, or repair machines and equipment.

The largest number of beneficiaries are from Plovdiv (138) and Sofia City (101), and the fewest are from Vidin (5).
