The level of registered unemployment in Bulgaria in July 2022 remained unchanged from June, and was again at the record-low 4.2%, according to data from the administrative statistics of the Employment Agency released on Monday. Year-on-year, unemployment dropped by 0.8 percentage points.
The registered unemployed in July were 139,215, or 416 more than in June, and 25,919, or 15.7%, less than a year earlier. The increase is the number of registered unemployed is attributed to Ukrainians with temporary shelter here who have the right to sign up as jobless.
In July, 20,362 newly unemployed people registered with labour offices, or 1,698 less than the previous month, and 89 people less than in July 2021. Another 728 people from the groups of employed jobseekers, students and pensioners also registered with the Employment Agency during the month.
In July, 12,885 unemployed started working. Nearly 19% of them found jobs in the manufacturing sector, 12.9% in the public administration, 12.6% in hotels and restaurants, 12.2% in trade, 5.6% in construction.
Some 4,343 jobless from vulnerable groups have been appointed at subsidized jobs in July.
The number of jobs advertised on the primary labour market in July was 11,268. The largest share of vacancies in the real economy were in the manufacturing industry (25.4%), followed by hotels and restaurants (15.3%), education (14.3%), trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (8.5%), administrative and support services (8%) and public administration (7.3%).
