A total of 3,853 unemployed people with disabilities started work in the first half of 2022 , the Labor and Social Policy Ministry said Tuesday. Of those, 2,355 found a job on the free labour market and 1,498 were included in subsidized employment.

A total of 1,390 were hired under the National Programme for Employment and Training of People with Permanent Disabilities through which the State finances the employment of people with permanent disabilities for 24 months.

Thanks to various measures provided for by the Employment Promotion Act, employers receive a subsidy to create jobs and hire disabled people. Funding is also available for employment of jobless youths under 29 years of age with permanent disabilities, as well as young people in healthcare and social residential care services who have completed their education.

In the first half of 2022, 520 jobless people with permanent disabilities were enrolled in vocational or key competence training, the costs of which are also covered by the national budget, the Ministry said.
