Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) Governor Dimitar Radev received a high grade in Global Finance magazine's Central Banker Report Cards 2022. The prestigious annual ranking grades the central bank governors of 96 key countries across the globe based on an “A” to “F” scale, with "A" representing excellent success in areas such as inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability and interest rate management. The Bulgarian central banker's grade is "A-", which is the highest possible after "A".

In last year's edition of the Global Finance ranking, Radev got an "A".

In the Central Banker Report Cards 2022, only ten central bank governors got an “A” and another ten, an “A-”.

In addition to Radev, the central bankers graded "A-" include Egypt's Tarek Amer, Saudi Arabia's Fahad al-Mubara, Colombia's Leonardo Villar Gomez, and Uruguay's Diego Labat.

Among those with grade "A" are China's Yi Gang, Brazil's Roberto Campos Neto, Sweden's Stefan Ingves, India's Shaktikanta Das, and Israel's Amir Yaron.

A single central banker - Iceland's Asgeir Jonsson - got an “A+”.

The full list of names of central bankers who earned the highest grades (“A+”, “A” or “A-”) this year is available here.
