site.btaRoad Infrastructure Agency Tasked with Preparing Tenders for Winter Road Servicing

The Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) has been tasked with preparing tenders for winter road cleaning, said here Friday caretaker Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Shishkov at a news conference, during which he presented his Ministry's team and priorities.

Shishkov said the tenders have been drafted and published on RIA's website. The goal is to ensure the winter road servicing in a timely and legal manner, he said.

According to the caretaker Minister, RIA's previous management had attempted to leave the State unable to ensure the winter road cleaning with the goal being to extent the contracts for the ongoing road maintenance, which had already been extended once in the past. "I have no other explanation," Shishkov said.

Designing and contracting the main repairs of roads is among the Ministry's priority tasks, he said.
