site.btaBulgaria Applies for Partnership with Slovenian International Fair of Agriculture AGRA

The Ministry of Agriculture officially applied to be a partner of the International Fair of Agriculture and Food AGRA taking place in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia, between August 20 and 25. This was reported by the Bulgarian Ministry on its website on Sunday.

The latter of application by Minister Yavor Gechev was handed over to the forum's Executive Director Boris Erjavec by Deputy Minister Georgi Sabev. It reads, "Within the framework of the partnership, Bulgaria would like to present itself as an attractive location with good food and many opportunities for rural, wine and cultural tourism". The document points out the excellent opportunity that AGRA provides for Bulgaria to exhibit its agricultural products as well as those of the food industry to a wide audience.

During his visit to Slovenia, Sabev spoke with the Macedonian, Kosovan, and Slovenian Ministers of Agriculture. "Our countries have potential and opportunities to build on sectoral trade, which should be exploited and developed," he said and used the opportunity to invite the ministers to visit Bulgaria.

The international AGRA fair is an important meeting opportunity for producers, traders, experts and consumers from Central and Eastern Europe. In 2019, more than 30 countries took part in it, and more than 120,000 visitors attended the event. This year's focus is on fisheries and aquaculture, innovation and digitization, climate changes, invigorating the rural areas.
