A joint working group between the ministries of Tourism, Culture, and Agriculture will discuss opportunities for promoting Bulgarian tourism, culture, and agriculture at home and abroad, it transpired from a meeting between ministers Ilin Dimitrov (Tourism), Velislav Minekov (Culture) and Yavor Gechev (Agriculture).
Minister Dimitrov highlighted as a priority the need for full coordination between the institutions to promote Bulgaria as a brand name. He said that he is convinced that tourism, agriculture and culture should go hand in hand. The working group is laying the foundation for good cooperation with a roadmap for work in the next few months, he added.
The participants in the meeting agreed to urgently set up an inter-ministerial group with the participation of the three ministries, which will be in permanent session. Part of its work will be to unify the representational items of all ministries and institutions to promote Bulgaria's cultural heritage.
The working group will focus on the joint organisation of festivals and events related to culture, food, and wine.
To support the digitalization of tourism, an interactive map will be developed to combine all types of tourism, and local food markets that every visitor can navigate. The unified tourism map will be part of the next improvement of the national tourism portal bulgariatravel.org.
The meeting was hosted by Tourism Minister Dimitrov, the next discussion will be at the Culture Ministry.
