site.btaHeavy Rainfall Stops Production at VMZ Ordnance Plant

Production at the state-owned VMZ Sopot ordnance plant was suspended due to the heavy rain last night, the caretaker Economy Ministry Nikola Stoyanov reported on Friday. Storage rooms and production workshops were flooded.

The power supply in the production area has been switched off to prevent accidents.

Later Friday, deputy Economy and Industry Minister Irina Shtonova said that the power supply to the production site will be fully restored within 24 hours. Shtonova visited the plant to get a first-hand insight into the situation after the flooding.
