site.btaEconomy Minister Convinced Bulgaria Will Have Gas after October

In a bTV interview, caretaker Economy and Industry Minister Nikola Stoyanov said that he is convinced that Bulgaria will have enough natural gas to meet its energy demand for the winter months after October. The government is negotiating the gas price, he added.

“I am an absolute supporter of diversification. We should get as many gas suppliers as possible,” Stoyanov stressed.

In his words, the former government has made a mistake, agreeing tanker loads of liquified natural gas without providing access to LNG unloading slots.

“The caretaker government did its best to provide slots. Those to be used for October were purchased in April and May. Opportunities to negotiate slots were missed,” Stoyanov argued.

The Economy Minister said that there are talks with Gazprom and other possible suppliers of natural gas.
