site.btaBulgaria to Be Advertised in Germany as Health Tourism Destination

Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov had a working meeting with Mitko Vassilev, CEO of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GBCIC), to review past cooperation and consider future joint initiatives, the caretaker Tourism Ministry reported on Thursday. Vassilev is also the official representative of Bavaria to Bulgaria.

The two discussed an invitation for German Bundestag members, more specifically Tourism Committee Chair Jana Schimke, to visit Bulgaria this autumn. They also considered visits by German tour operators and leaders of tourism organizations.

A push to advertise Bulgaria as an attractive travel destination was also on the agenda of the talks. The GBCIC has sent an official letter to Tourism Minister Dimitrov proposing ways to advertise Bulgaria on the German market mainly in the field of health tourism.

It transpired at the meeting that the German Travel Association has been invited to organize a tourism forum in Bulgaria in 2023, involving broad participation of businesses.
