"We expect that construction works on the interconnector for transmitting natural gas between Bulgaria and Greece will be completed by Sunday so that the procedure for pre-final certification can begin," caretaker Regional Development Minnister Ivan Shishkov told journalists Thursday. Earlier in the day he met with all contractors working on the interconnector.
"Some of the commitments of the construction company have not been completed. Today we had a talk and the builder made a commitment that the work will be completed by Sunday. On Monday I will carry out inspections at Stara Zagora and Haskovo. There is no politics in our work. I feel much more like an expert than a minister," said Shishkov.
On Friday representatives of the construction company will meet with the Kardzhali (Southeast Bulgaria) Regional Governor to see which municipalities have comments about works on the interconnector.
