The assets managed by insurance companies operating in Bulgaria amounted to BGN 9.173 billion at the end of June 2022, the Bulgarian National Bank reported Friday. They decreased by BGN 366.4 million (3.8%) compared to the end of June 2021 and by BGN 326.7 million (3.4%) compared to the end of March 2022. 

The assets of life insurance companies went down by BGN 222.3 million (7.6%) year-on-year to BGN 2.716 billion at the end of June 2022. Compared to the end of March 2022, these assets decreased by BGN 51.6 million (1.9%). At the end of June 2022, their share in the total assets was 29.6%, compared to 30.8% at the end of June 2021 and 29.1% at the end of March 2022.

The assets managed by general insurance companies decreased by BGN 144.1 million (2.2%) year-on-year to BGN 6.457 billion at the end of June 2022 and by BGN 275.1 million (4.1%) compared to the end of March 2022. At the end of June 2022, their share in the total assets was 70.4%, compared to 69.2% at the end of June 2021 and 70.9% at the end of March 2022.
