site.btaBulgargaz Proposes Decreasing Natgas Price by 30% in October

Public natural gas supplier Bulgargaz filed an application with the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC), proposing to sell natural gas in October at BGN 247.96 MWh, which is some 30% lower than the price in September, the Energy Ministry said in a press release on Friday.

The projected price for October meets the call of employers and trade unions for setting a price cap on gas at BGN 250 MWh, the Ministry added.

On September 1, EWRC approved a price of natural gas of BGN 353.21/MWh for September 2022 (exclusive of access, transmission, excise duty and VAT charges). This is the final price at which Bulgargaz sells natural gas to end-suppliers of gas and to heating companies.

Bulgargaz's final proposal will be filed with the EWRC on October 1 after considering price-determining factors as of September 30.
