Caretaker Minister of Innovation and Growth Alexander Pulev was here on Saturday to acquaint local businesses with the options for applying under the first procedure within the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). The Technological Modernisation procedure has a total budget of BGN 260 million and is directed at micro-, small and medium-size companies.

“For us it is a priority to help businesses in this moment, world crises and galloping inflation,” Pulev told the local business representatives. According to him, 99% of firms in Silistra and the region are eligible for funding under the NRRP’s first procedure. Ninety-three per cent of them are micro-enterprsies with up to 9 employees.

Pulev underscored that there will be three more procedures under the NRRP by this year’s end: on cybersecurity (BGN 30.6 million), on building renewable energy sources for personal energy production (BGN 200 million), and on development activities and intellectual property (BGN 120 million).

Next year, the Innovation Ministry will have BGN 7 billion under the EU’s structural funds to support scientific centres, innovative and high-tech companies, Pulev said.
