Energy Minister Rossen Hristov opened Wednesday a modern kaolin processing line at the Kaolin plant in the city of Vetovo, Ruse region. "With my presence, I want to emphasize how important it is to have investors of this class in the country. This is a good example of how a foreign investor, satisfied with their existence here, invests in increasing capacities, including in the implementation of the most modern technologies, and in a dual training centre," Minister Hristov said.
He explained that the company has also invested in fuel diversification.
"They have the opportunity to replace gas with alternative fuels, which provides a continuous operation process, something other businesses should follow," Hristov said.
"This project is part of many improvements that have been made at the factory in Vetovo in recent years. Our new solar park is also being built a hundred metres from here. And in our dual training centre, more than 100 students have already completed technical education in the last years," said Robert Lindemann-Berk, Chairman of Kaolin's Supervisory Board.
In addition to a modern kaolin processing line, a new repair workshop was also built. The investment is worth EUR 9 million.
The company, part of a German family business group, provides a full range of industrial minerals for the production of glass and ceramics and is one of the largest producers of fireclay in Europe.
