Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov will unveil the 10th Augustiada Wine and Cultural Heritage Fest in the southern city of Stara Zagora on September 23, said the organizers from the Stara Zagora Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Oinorama company, in partnership with the local municipality. New culinary products will also make their debut at the event, scheduled to continue until September 25.

Representatives of 35 wineries from Bulgaria will come to offer guests of the Avgustiada their products at the traditional bazaar in the Antique Street of downtown Stara Zagora. They will have 250 wines to sample to select the best.

There will be master classes with the awarded wines from the Balkan Wine Festival 2022.

This year’s special guests will be wine producers from Turkey.

One such, a distinctive Turkish producer of fine wines, Mustafa Camlica, owns a winery on the Turkish side of Strandzha mountain, 120 km west of Istanbul, one with a climate quite different from the Bulgarian side. His boutique winery carries the traditions of three generations of producers and now his daughter, Irem, also designs the company labels.

The festival will begin with the election of the Avgustiada Queen who will act as the ambassador of the fest. The parade will also include all exhibitors, a folklore group, the Stara Zagora State Puppet Theatre, the City Brass Band and the organizers, to culminate with the official opening in the evening.
