site.btaKozloduy N-Plant Unit 6 to Be Shut Down for Scheduled Annual Maintenance on Saturday

The 1,000 MW Unit 6 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant will go off stream on September 24 for scheduled annual maintenance, the power plant said. The works are expected to continue until the end of October. 

The necessary resources, spare parts and qualified staff have been ensured for the planned repair and maintenance works.  

The scheduled works include necessary repairs and preventive technical maintenance to secure the safety and reliable operation of the equipment in the coming winter, the power plant said. The reactor will be reloaded with fresh nuclear fuel. Planned measures pertaining to the long-term operation of the unit will be performed as well.
