Bulgaria's Tourism Minister Ilin Dimitrov and Serbia's Ambassador Zeljko Jovic discussed ways for joint promotion of tourism in the two countries and the development of joint initiatives in a regional context, the Tourism Ministry said on Friday.

Dimitrov said Serbia is among Bulgaria's top 10 tourism markets. "Serbs like Bulgarian winter resorts and now we are working to promote summer tourism," he said.

The diplomat said Serbs like Bulgarian resorts very much and know that this country offers a very attractive value for money ratio. He hopes that more Serbs will be able to learn about holiday options in Bulgaria. It is important that the two peoples keep in close contact, the ambassador said.

Dimitrov asked the Serbian Ambassador to convey a formal invitation to Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Minister Tatjana Matic to visit Bulgaria for a conference on digital transformation in tourism in late October.

The invitation is a follow-up to a conversation between Dimitrov and Matic at the UN World Tourism Organization's 6th Global Conference on Wine Tourism held in Alba, Italy, the Ministry said.
