site.btaLithuanian Company Plans to Set Up Production Facility in Stara Zagora Industrial Zone
A Lithuanian investor has opened talks to purchase a site in the Zagore Industrial Zone in the southern city of Stara Zagora, the executive director of the industrial zone, Radoslv Tanev, told BTA. The company is called Stelas BG and intends to have a start-up production facility for specialized technologies for food processing. Thanks to the technology, a wide range of foods will be processed with a focus on the latest habits for healthy eating. The investor plans to expand the company's business, add new products to its range and gain a foothold on new markets.
Tanev said the company plans to purchase produce from local and regional producers. At the start the production will be for export only. In Tanev's words, the company chose Stara Zagora due to its good location close to key roads and the well organized industrial environment.
Tanev said that the facilities in the Zagore Industrial Zone have been 90% built. The infrastructure is fully completed. Eight companies implement investment projects in the zone at the moment, two of which are at the final stage of the construction works, and six are still at the design stage.
The industrial zone has an area of 11.5 ha and aims to attract small and medium-sized businesses. The committed investments exceed BGN 40 million while about 300 jobs will or have been opened.
